On 5 June, the world celebrates World Environment Day – one of the most significant international initiatives dedicated to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development. The day provides an opportunity to reflect on the environmental challenges facing our societies, as well as on the solutions that can help secure a better future for both people and nature.

As every year, the National Trust EcoFund (NTEF) marks this period with its annual event, bringing together partners, experts, representatives of national and local authorities, civil society organisations, and all those committed to environmental protection.

This year, NTEF’s annual event will take place on 19 June 2026.

As is tradition, the event is also linked to the commemoration of the birthday of Mimi Pramatarova, the first Director of Rila National Park, in whose memory NTEF organises an annual student creative competition. During the event, awards will be presented to the competition winners for the twentieth consecutive year.

The event will also feature the presentation of the NTEF Strategy for 2026–2035, outlining the Fund’s vision and priorities for the coming decade. A highlight of the programme will be a panel discussion entitled “Financial Instruments for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation”, focusing on opportunities to support climate policies and investments in Bulgaria.

NTEF invites its partners and supporters to join the event and celebrate World Environment Day together while discussing the next steps towards a more sustainable and climate-resilient future.
