The National Trust EcoFund will facilitate a thematic session dedicated to the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change and the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities on 17 March 2026, scheduled from 13:30 to 15:30. The discussion will present European policies on climate adaptation, opportunities for new Bulgarian municipalities to join the NetZeroCities initiative, and practical tools for energy management at the local level.
The session will be moderated by Kamelia Georgieva from NTEF. Speakers will include Svetlana Zhekova - member of the Board of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change; Maria Minkova - Executive Director of the NTEF; Dragomir Tsanev - Executive Director of EnEffect; as well as international experts.
The session is part of the national conference “Financing Energy Efficiency: The National Renovation Plan and the Role of Local Authorities,” which will take place at the Grand Hotel Sofia. The event is organized by the Municipal Energy Efficiency Network EcoEnergy and the Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect in partnership with NTEF. It will bring together representatives of institutions, municipalities, and experts to discuss financial mechanisms and policies for building renovation in Bulgaria.
NTEF’s participation is part of the Fund’s broader efforts to support Bulgarian municipalities in building capacity for energy management and climate policy implementation, while also expanding their engagement in European initiatives and partnerships.
